While Im a bit ecstatic because I have some great news that I cant wait to tell - blogspot? lol

1. My dear sister, Lanie and Mark, met with Jan last Saturday for an ocular visit to Club Ultima.
I had a lot of negative reviews, actually, about the parking, the dance floor, the party hall and even how the buffet table is set up;, So I sent the best critic from my family and hear what they have to say. And voila - they are very impressed with the Venue, with the open bar, with the lights, with the ambiance and all of the above.. "Something different and amazing" - she said more than twice. I'm all smiles.. Trash the idea of considering Waterfront and Marriott now..:-)

2. Hanggaws Neli & Menchie found the best satin, lace, and all those wonderful fabrics in Naif for as low as AED 5 per meter.... WOW I swear once Russ gets well, Naif is the first place to visit...Cant wait...

3. After a long search of the best Cebu photographers (for vintage shots) - I finally settled for the photographer January has recommended (and in my package) haha.. Who would have thought about that haha.. (i wont do him justice if I dont post his work separately- he needs a page)

So there -good news just keeps on pourin..

20/20

I banned myself for using the net at home because I start to feel the symptoms of 20/20 vision failure. Severe headache, blurry sight, hurting eyes ,crawling tears- viola! That was me way back in 1st Year College wearing pink eye glasses..

No way I'm wearing eye glasses again.

So this resulted to "only" weekend use of the laptop. (Russ enjoys the laptop over the weekdays). However this means limited to blogspot too.. * sigh

Pimp my Cup Cake

I just realized that I never tasted a wedding cake in all the weddings that I have attended. Haha. Why, have you?

It may be for the obvious reason that no one wants to destroy the towering masterpiece.
Makes sense but its still non-sense. Its meant to be digested, ey!

So I want this pimping on my day. There will be bare yummy cup cakes; sprinkles, icing, M&Ms,and any decorettes. Guests can get to decorate their own fun cake any way they want and take it home! And get a taste of our wedding cake. Yummy!

But do we have enough budget to fund the cupcakes + 3-tier cake?
That's where my evil plan shines * shhh a secret; the 2 out of the 3 tier cake will be a mock! in other words; a fake. Budget then be used for the lovely fun cakes... tada*** genius..

I was initially talking about triangles + square + all-pink cake + polka dots + strings. He silenced with " White cake. A white cake".

But we still lack the topper. We have thought of some but still undecided.

We are having Photobooth. Yeah.

But we also want to give them something that they can display on top of their television sets. haha. Seriously, we want our guests to remember us as "From Dubai with Love" - the couple who met and fell in love in Dubai.

We are giving out "Dubai Sand Globe" for the ladies and "Dubai Bottle Opener" for the gentlemen. (This is significant to Russ who once was an alcoholic haha joke)

I'm not really a big fan of pink so this is surely irrelevant to our lives. However since it looks good on almost eveything especially in the pictures.. So go go go...

But we need more colors to contrast the feminine thingy. Maybe plum. Maybe black. Maybe our minds will work in the coming days..

When the subject comes up about weddings, visions of meanigful wedding toasts and wonderful bubbly champagnes often come to our minds. But who said it has to be wines and champagnes?

Most of our guests are out of town, out of the country. Needless to say even the bride & groom are (ya right).. So the STD card is deemed necessary so they can book their tickets in advance and avail of those fair discounts and air miles.. (which reminds me of our own reservation)

Russ & I have agreed to send out Dubai Postcards as our STD cards. Cool. Chic isnt it?

We can mail it to guests - dubbed: From Dubai with Love to India, Cebu, Manila, Negros, Singapore, China, US, Australia - where most of our families & friends are (with the hope that they will really save the date).

We are talking about FOOD here right?

So we were quite picky on this as our main concern is how to make our guests' tummies b l o a t! We aim to feed them in as much as we can, with of course, equally sumptous food. I checked all the menus from different hotels and even the best upgrade is still not enough. (or unless we are prepared to pay Php 3k/person - which we are not, so what are we talking about here). So when I saw Jan's package, with Fifty (Five ZERO) Menus, how can I not consider? This too caters from Italian (pasta & pizzas - yes) ; Japanese (r we talking about sushi?) ; Chinese (dimsum & siomai); Western (burgers & cold cuts ): and our very own Filipino Dishes (Lechon Kawali & Halo-Halo Station - oh no!).

So there. Crown Regency/Club Ultima it is.

Yesterday, we are about to call the wedding off. Today, we just did an announcement in Cebu that we will be tying the knot come January, 2011.

Ironic isnt it? But thats just sooooo sooo us (ugh).. But im really getting used to it-in the true sense of the words! You know when we fight, all the F** and B** words come out naturally. Its like "i have regretted meeting you", then the day after - "i dont think i can live without you"! *collapse

I think it's very sweet and thats how and why we love each other very much.. haha..

What's in a theme?

I repeat. What's in a theme?

Does it really have to be a themed wedding? I hope not because we just cant think of one.

We did consider an Italian-themed wedding, for obvious reasons that we are Italian-wanna-be's.
But there isnt just so much about an Italian-themed big day. Well for one, most of our guests woud surely not wear Tux and all; they are not so fond of almonds, pizza and pasta maybe - Yes, but apart from that.. its nothing.. Its Boring.. It will leave the guests puzzled how Italy relates to us..

Now (like how Chad yells the word), what's in a theme? Any suggestions?

The Ceremony Chapel

I only have 1 requirement. Ceremony Venue should be full, no vacant seats. No Gate Crashers. No Paparazzis. That Simple. Nothing more nothing less.

This is my idea of an intimate wedding ceremony, in an intimate super sacred venue witnessed by beautiful, important people. As you face the guests as husband and wife, you will smile to see familiar faces smiling back at you.. When you know within that they are not there for the food and favor; but they are there because they care.

The Archbishop Chapel is just where I want to say I DO.. (Phyns, I stole ur foto)

Our Wedding Coordinator

We have decided to get a wedding coordinator even before we have decided the big date. Yes because I dont want to bug my sister & my mom for any of the planning, or if there may be so, I'll make sure those will be for the littlest of things.. Its not their wedding, they deserve to be at peace u know..

Thru Mr Google, I was really amazed with the number of wedding coordinators in Cebu, that too with websites haha. Seriously, are there like so many couples getting married all year through that Events Specialist is one of the sought of profession in Cebu? Ohwell, I had so much fun checking each and every beautiful wedding websites and shortlisted my best 3. Sent them an email; told them what I want and got a qoute.. The typical IE-that-I-am, i made a comparative cost analysis chart to get the best deal. USC TC would have been proud.

I enjoyed the daily discussions with Russ with what each coordinator is offering, and so excited to have finally decided to hire Debuts & I Dos, http://www.mycebuboholweddings.com/ to take care of our big day. Besides January - the owner/coordinator, being my college friend, we found their work very pretty and I have this YEAH feeling that they'll be able to execute all the silly ideas we have for the wedding.

And today, we finally paid the downpayment.. YOHOO

I told Russ, this is it.. "Are we really getting married?"; he replied, "You can still back out you know..." haha
