This week is my last chance to ship my box for the Holidays. Due to the operation, I have been distracted and limited (post-operation) to MOVE. And I still am, but since my deadline is calling me - I have to run.
Go for Panic Shopping..!!!
Whats worse,i can not flatter my right hand (even with cast off) so Im irritatingly relying to my leftie to carry the stuff. Even how I try to pretend everythings OK, it is just not. I am left with no choice but to, SHOP-CARRY WHAT I CAN ONLY CARRY-GO HOME-GO BACK TO THE SAME MALL-SHOP-and so on..
IMAGINE!!!!
Now Im totally exhausted. I ran thru the same mall 3 times. *** Sigh****
ANd yes??
Where's Russ?? He is working, a candidate for Manager- I can not ask him to risk this day to shop with me...
(Im so proud of him just being promoted as Supv - now 1st in the rank for another promotion)
He still owe me though, tomorrow he hunts for the best scooter for Bea. hehe

My First (ever) Operation
that too in Dubai, UAE.
This is late as my cast was only taken out 2 days back! Good Gracious!
1. Oct 22, my Ganglion Cyst Operation. I went alone , admitted at 1130 am, listened to some music, was forced to take sleeping tabs, woke up in the operation room (probably after an hour of sleep) , felt the sharp 3-needles for Anesthesia & Dextrose; felt the so-painful Bier Block process, smell and seen my right arm bathe in Betamethasone (?), felt the cut on my wrist, fell off to sleep, woke up 5 hours after with a cast.
2. Im so hungry, (cant blame me - 10 hours of fasting!) i finished d 2 huge chicken sandwiches the nurse ordered for me in 2 minutes ,, with apple juice & water.NO Exaggeration! That too with 1 hand.
3. Not allowed to go home unless someone assists me. I called Russ to take me home. (no man is an island, but this operation will not kill me; I think the Hospital is over acting)
4. One full week of medication (pain reliever 3x a week). Y? bec it pains a lotttttttttttttttt.
5. Right arm is completely paralised. But realised I have a super power LEFT. (takes bath for 2 hours using 1 hand.imagine.)
6. Went to work after the weekend. For comfortability's sake- I wore dresses for the full week. You can imagine the stares! ,in the bus ride and the endless questions " accident?; "no Sick Leave?"; "boxing?
My desk was arranged for LEFT-hand use. The mouse pad, the phone, the files..
My boss told me, "Pam u dont seem sick to me, u still send 100 emails per day like nothing happened".. toink~
7. Oct 28. My last visit to my surgeon.Cast was taken off, i saw the fresh stitches, the blue-black totally swelling hand...
My life is pretty back to normal now. My thank yous to:
1. The Dream Team (Our Lord, Sto NIno, my guardian angel, Mama MAry and my grandparents in heaven) I specially requested the team to be with me, with assigned positions. STo Nino & my Guardian Angel - the guards in my right wrist in particular.
2. The prayers and Support (Family, Russ, Russ' mom, Aileen & Sang (for washing the dishes for me), Hanggaws - Estebat constantly reminding me of Dunia, Mariano - cant stop talking about Crecre plus both discussing the male's organ in the cake for Polatex's Bridaw Shower. (hanggaws jud walay gipili nga adlaw), My Collegues & Friends)
3. Dr Patkar, my surgeon , and his nurse Jessei ( i love the tandem)
4. Wellcare Hospital
5. Daikin for paying the bills haha

The Diagnosis
X-ray result is released,; Verdict is out. I was right, Ganglion Cyst, with recommendation for Surgery.
New Medical Center Sharjah does not do surgery, so Im visiting a surgeon sometime this week in Dubai, and have the operation scheduled.
Dr Imad was quite impressed with how I know "more than a little" about this cyst. His brows peaked when I mentioned "the Ganglion cyst" and the series of questions I threw at him. Well, Mr Wikipedia was a lot of help haha... I did my homework quite well.
Now, Im googling on the operation process. How it will be and if like , "will I die" things and stuff..
I started on a Youtube clip -and it was sooo gross. They will just put a local anesthesia and start cutting your wrist.. Ewwww...Im not scared but more of wanting to puke.. Will I be able to contain it??
Well, I better be, mom is not here to hold my hand, and Russ - oh Russ he will surely be with me, but I can never rely on his presence inside the operating room as he has this fear of the needles - or shall I say - fear of the hospital, or even the smell of it.. haha
Days to prepare.. Good Luck to me..

Shock of my Life
I was showing my colleague, Arlyn, my burns in both hands; while cooking last Saturday. To my surprise she noticed something in my wrist instead. The marble-piece-like in my right wrist next to my bone.
"What is this"
"Oh, swollen bone! I must have bumped somewhere";
"No, this is a cyst!"
My other colleague, Joy, took a look and confirmed;
"It is a cyst".
She touched it and "see its fluid and it moves"
I was surprised. For 2 weeks or so, Ive noticed this "so called swelling"; or so I thought and since it does not pain at-all, I was under the impression that this is just one evidence of my clumsiness and must have bumped somewhere causing it to swell..
Then it hit me. I never cared because I have zero knowledge. I have to have this checked ASAP. And so I did. After work, I immediately went to New Medical Center (my 2nd visit this month ), I waited for 45 minutes, then met Dr Imad. He is not an Indian, nor a Pakistani. Im guessing he is a Lebanese or an Egyptian - defintely an Arab hu can speak great English.
Without further adue - "This is a cyst; No doubt"
"Are you sure, how do we verify this"
"90% visibility, its cyst; but we'll go for xray, then schedule you for the operation"
" This is nothing serious but still has to go under a minor operation,"
Im oh soo expecting this, all the while Ive been listening keenly to Joy, whom had an operation in her boobs to extract 3-as in -3 cysts. So im ready. No tension.
I went for x-ray and results will be out on Saturday.. mmmm....
I hurried home and goggled. According to Mr Wikipedia - its called a Ganglion Cyst - the one found in the wrists. It is Idiopatic, which means the cause is somehow unknown. But most women get this. And its recurring. ---- Only this much I can take. Heaven knows how I hate medical terms and all (ironic that I belong to a family obsessed by Medicine) so I focused on the treatment.
Surgical.
That is the only treatment. ok.
My first operation ever - that too in Dubai..
Interesting, just so interesting.
Well, I know our Good Lord believes I can do this, so Im excited to have this done and get over with.
Better and tough days ahead... Hakuna Matata!!
